(Bangkok, November 10, 2025) – Honda, a leader in future mobility technologies, together with its three affiliated companies—Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Thai Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd.—in collaboration with tournament organizer IMG Services (Thailand) Co., Ltd., proudly announces the 19th edition of the world-class women’s golf tournament, Honda LPGA Thailand 2026. The event will be held from 19–22 February 2026 at Siam Country Club, Old Course, Pattaya, Chonburi, featuring 72 top LPGA Tour players competing for an increased total prize fund of USD 1.8 million (approx. THB 60 million), up from USD 1.7 million in 2025.
This year, Thai and Japanese golfers continue to draw global attention with their remarkable performances, reflecting the rising strength of Asian talent in international golf. The tournament also embraces the concept of “Golf Lifestyle,” seamlessly combining sport and entertainment to inspire and engage audiences of all ages.
Toshio Kuwahara, President and CEO of Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., said: “Women’s golf continues to grow in popularity and plays an increasingly important role in promoting gender equality in sports. As the title sponsor of the Honda LPGA Thailand since 2006, Honda is proud to announce the 19th edition of the tournament in 2026, which will bring together 72 of the world’s top female golfers for an exciting competition in February. Over the years, this tournament has not only served as a key platform that propels Thai female golfers to the global stage but has also contributed significantly to Thailand’s economy, tourism, and international image. Furthermore, Honda remains committed to fostering a sustainable society through ongoing initiatives that support youth and local communities.”
“Honda believes in ‘The Power of Dreams’ and is dedicated to empowering people and society to pursue their aspirations. We continue to inspire athletes and fans to embrace challenges and push beyond their limits through the Honda LPGA Thailand, a stage that truly embodies the spirit of dreams for golf lovers. This year, Honda is ready to deliver an exciting tournament experience along with a variety of engaging activities, welcoming golf fans from across Thailand and around the world. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, partners from both the public and private sectors, as well as the organizers and everyone working behind the scenes who have made this event possible once again.”
Ms. Winnie Heng, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of IMG Services (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the tournament organizer, emphasized: “Earlier this year, we recorded over 50,000 spectators on-site, reaffirming the strong and continuous growth of golf in Thailand and across Asia. There is no better time than now to embrace the sport of golf. Our goal is to make both the Honda LPGA Thailand and golf more accessible to everyone. With the collaboration of Honda, IMG, and our valued partners, we are confident in achieving this goal — delivering an improved golf experience that seamlessly blends sport with lifestyle.”
Off the course, the tournament continues to feature a wide range of sustainable youth and personnel development initiatives, such as the Young Ambassador Program, the Volunteer Program, the National Qualifiers, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, and the Junior Golf Program. Last year, these initiatives received an overwhelmingly positive response from young golfers and their parents.
Before the official field announcement in January 2026, attention is focused on standout Thai and Japanese golfers. Among Thai players are Jeeno Thitikul (current World No.1), Patty Tavatanakit (2024 champion), Ariya Jutanugarn (2021 champion), and Chanettee Wannasaen, who advanced from two-time National Qualifiers champion to winning two LPGA titles.
Japanese golfers have also been in strong form, capturing seven wins early in the 2025 season. Highlights include Miyu Yamashita, 2025 AIG Women’s Open and Maybank Championship champions; Rio Takeda, Blue Bay LPGA winner; Mao Saiko, Chevron Championship major winner; and twins Akie and Chisato Iwai, winners of the Portland Classic, Riviera Maya Open, respectively. Nasa Hataoka also added to Japan’s success with her victory at the Japan Classic Championship last week.
Over the past decade, Thai golfers have consistently excelled on the LPGA Tour since Ariya Jutanugarn became the first Thai to win an LPGA title. To date, seven Thai golfers have won a total of 30 titles, including three majors: Ariya Jutanugarn (12 titles, 2 majors), Jeeno Thitikul (6 titles), Jasmine Suwannapura (3 titles), Moriya Jutanugarn (3 titles), Chanettee Wannasaen (2 titles), Patty Tavatanakit (2 titles, 1 major), and Pajaree Anannarukarn (2 titles). Currently, three Thai golfers rank in the world’s top 50.
Japan has long been a pioneer for Asian golfers on the global stage, starting with Ayako Okamoto, who won her first LPGA title in 1974. To date, 24 Japanese golfers have claimed 66 LPGA titles, including seven majors, with Yuka Saso winning two. In 2025, Japanese players captured six tournament victories, placed 10 players in the top 50, swept the top four Rookie of the Year rankings, highlighting their growing impact on the world stage.
Jeeno Thitikul stated: “Whenever I have a break from competing, I like to return to Thailand but it’s even more special to get to play a tournament there. Celebrating my birthday with my family and competing in Honda LPGA Thailand has become a yearly highlight. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with Thai fans and inspire young golfers. See you all in February!”
Angel Yin, 2025 champion from the United States: “Honda LPGA Thailand is one of the most memorable tournaments on tour—not just for the competition, but for the energy, the warm welcome from fans, and the vibrant Thai culture. Last year, I even celebrated my win by attending a cabaret show—it was so much fun! I can’t wait to return.”
